관사!? 부정관사!? 정관사!?

I think usage of article is the hardest part in learning English for me! And I gor low grade on some of my English exams because I used wrong articles in the sentences! So I try to find some rules about it, so I can do better next time!


The를 잘 살펴보면 결국 a를 빼고는 상상할 수 없는 의미체계가 있습니다. 처음 출발에서 갈려 a와 the가 잉태되었다고 할 수 있겠습니다. 즉, 수학적으로 모든 것의 표준(norm)이 되는 1과 1 이상의 수의 개념이 영어에 도입이 되어 정관사와 부정관사가 나뉘어져서 발전을 하고, zero 관사, 즉 무관사 개념이 나타나게 된 것입니다.

부정관사나, 정관사나 숫자상으로는 하나라는 느낌에는 변함이 없습니다. 그런데 a는 여러 개 중 하나라는 느낌이고 정관사는 하나 밖에 없는 하나입니다. 둘 다 하나인데, 그 배경이 다르다라는 것이죠. 유일무이한 하나가 the이고, 여러 가지 중 하나는 a가 될 것입니다.

관사에서 가장 중요한 것은 ‘가산성’(加算性)입니다. 즉, 명사의 가장 중요한 특징인 셀 수 있느냐, 셀 수 없느냐에 따라서 그 쓰임새가 명확하게 달라집니다. 우선, 다음의 7가지 개념을 가지고 있으면 거의 모든 관사가 명쾌하게 해결이 될 것입니다. 지면 관계상, 관사의 개관만 전달을 합니다. 예문은 스스로 독해를 하면서 관점을 확보하시기 바랍니다. 관사는 용례 중심의 학습도 중요하지만, 체계를 잡는 것도 아주 중요합니다.


1. 관사는 명사의 앞에 위치하여 명사의 의미를 한정합니다. 따라서, 관사는 명사의 의미와 쓰임새에 따라서 부정관사, 정관사, 무관사 등과 결합하여 쓰입니다. 이 때 의미와 쓰임새는 전적으로 뒤에 오는 명사의 수 개념, 단수인지, 복수인지, 셀 수 있는지, 셀 수 없는 지와 깊은 관련이 있습니다.


2. the definite article (the): 특정한 것을 지칭하는 article
the indefinite article(a/an): 특정하지 않은 것을 지칭하는 article
zero article: 불가산 명사와 결합하는 article


3. 부정관사는 ‘여러 개 중에서 특정하지 않은, 즉 막연한 하나’를 지칭합니다. 이는 a/an이 하나의 단위(unit)을 표시하는 장치가 됨을 의미합니다. 부정관사는 반드시 셀 수 있는 명사(count nouns)와 결합을 합니다. 따라서, 복수명사와는 절대로 결합을 하지 않으며, 추상명사, 물질명사가 단위화 될 때 a/an을 결합시킬 수 있습니다.


4. 부정관사는 반드시 셀 수 있는 가산명사와 결합을 합니다. 그런데, 셀 수 없는 명사, 즉 추상명사나 물질명사에 부정관사가 결합한다는 것은, 이러한 불가산 명사가 가산 명사로 그 쓰임새가 바뀌었음을 의미합니다. 추상명사에 부정관사가 결합을 하면 ‘개별적인 하나의 행동’을 의미하며, 물질명사에 부정관사가 결합을 하면 ‘하나의 규격, 단위, 상품’을 의미합니다.


5. 정관사는 특정한 명사, 유일한 대상이라는 것을 나타낼 때 사용됩니다. 따라서, 형용사의 최상급, 서수사, 명사 뒤에서 전치사구로 수식하는 형용사구나 절로 수식하는 관계사절이 따라올 때 수식을 받는 명사에는 정관사를 사용함으로써 한정성을 나타냅니다. 이 때, 한정되는 의미의 판단은 명사가 수식어에 의해서 수식을 받는지의 여부가 중요한 것이 아니라, 특정한 대상을 수식할 때 ‘유일성’의 의미가 확보가 되면 the를 사용합니다. 반드시 한정적으로 수식을 받는다고 해서 the가 붙는 것이 아니라 ‘유일성’의 의미가 확보될 때 the를 사용합니다.


6. 무관사는 관사를 사용하지 않는 것을 의미합니다. 무관사는 관사가 없다고 보기 보다는 zero article, 즉 0의 개념이 있는 관사를 사용한다고 보는 것이 타당합니다. 이 때, 무관사는 셀 수 없는 명사, 즉 명사가 물질명사일 때나 추상명사일 때 사용되며, 셀 수 있는 명사도 추상적인 의미를 나타낼 때, 또는 본질적인 의미를 나타낼 때는 무관사로 표현을 합니다.


7. 부정관사, 정관사, 무관사는 친숙의 원리(Theory of Familiarity: Jespersen)에 의해 좌우됩니다. 관사의 사용에 있어서 친숙의 정도를 3단계로 구분을 합니다. 1단계는 전혀 친숙하지 않은 단계(complete unfamiliarity)로서 부정관사를 사용합니다. 2단계는 거의 완전한 정도의 친숙한 단계(nearly complete familiarity)로서 정관사를 사용을 합니다. 이 때, 정관사의 의미는 ‘서로 알고 있다는 전제’가 깔려 있습니다. the를 함부로 사용하게 되면, 상대방은 알지도 못하는 대상을 자꾸 자기는 알고 있다고 우기는 형국이 되니 사용에 특히 유념하셔야 합니다. 3단계는 완전한 친숙의 단계(complete familiarity)인데 이 때는 무관사를 사용해서 본질적인 의미를 지시합니다. 굳이 서로 알고 있다는 것을 뽐낼 이유가 없으니 무관사를 사용하는 것입니다.

2. 다운 받은 파일을 2배와 3배로 빠르게 녹음하여 우선 2배짜리만 사용합니다. (2배가 너무 빠르다고 1.5배짜리 등을 사용하는 사람도 있는데 힘들어도 처음부터 2배짜리로 시작하는 것이 좋습니다.) 파일이 필요하신 분은 제가 "100GB 자료실"에 올린 #338에 가셔서 다운받아 사용하세요. 앞으로 30일간만 다운 가능하답니다. (컴퓨터로 들으셔도 되고 CD로 구워 이동하면서 들어도 됩니다.)



3. 1주간 동안 파일을 30분 단위로 듣습니다.
1) 먼저 앞부분부터 10초 동안 음절(단어 아니고)에만 집중하여 듣는데 10번(10초 간격) 연속으로 듣습니다. 그리구 나서 보통 속도의 영어뉴스(CNN 또는 VOA, 가능하면 녹화된 것 아닌 실제 뉴스)를 10초 간격으로 2번 음절에 집중하여 듣습니다.


2) 파일의 그 다음 부분을 30초간 듣습니다. 30초 단위로 연속하여 5번 듣습니다. 그리구 영어뉴스(보통 속도)를 30초간 1번 듣습니다.


3) 파일의 그 다음 부분을 2분(=120초)간 듣습니다. 이어서 나머지를 다 듣습니다(1분 57초가 되겠죠?). 그리구 영어뉴스(보통 속도)를 2분간 1번 듣습니다. (그러면 파일 전체(8분 7초 짜리)를 1번 들은 것이 됩니다.)


4) 1) 2) 3)번의 과정을 동일하게 다시 1번 반복합니다.


5) 마지막으로 파일 전체(8분 7초)를 연속하여 듣습니다.



4. 30분 단위를 다 마쳤으면 5분 쉽니다.



5. 체력과 정신력과 시간이 허락한다면 하루에 30분 단위 듣기 연습을 여러 차례해도 됩니다. 그만큼 영어청취 정복 시간이 단축될 수 있습니다.

1. 100% 정확하게 듣는 것이 목표입니다.
- 2배든 3배든 처음부터 온 신경을 집중하여 음절을 100%(90%도 99%도 안됩니다.)로 정확하게 듣는 것을 목표로 하셔야 합니다. (처음에는 상당히 힘들겠죠? 그러나 며칠 가지 않아 음절단위로 숨소리까지 100% 정확하게 들릴 겁니다.) 음절단위란 한번에 한 개의 음절만 듣는 것을 말합니다. 앞뒤의 음절에 절대 신경써서는 안됩니다. 잘 듣지 못한 지나간 음절에도 신경을 끊으세요. (이 못들었다는 생각이 사람을 많이 방해합니다.) 현재의 음절에만 온 신경을 집중해야하니 상당한 정신적 육체적 피로감이 올 수 있습니다.



2. 의미는 완전히 잊어야 합니다.
- 이때 의미를 조금이라도 생각하시면 안됩니다. 처음에는 자꾸 단어가 떠오르게 되는데 그래도 단어단위로 들으면 안됩니다. 단어나 의미는 소리를 듣는데 방해가 될 뿐이어요. 단어나 의미 떠오르는 것을 완전히 떨쳐버려야 진전이 있습니다.



3. 순간순간 피드백을 해야 합니다.
- 음절단위로 들을 때 제대로 들었는지 스스로 확인해야 합니다. 못 들어서 그냥 치나쳤는지 정말 100% 정확하게 들었는지 음절마다 본인 스스로 확인하라는 것입니다.



4. 몇% 정확하게 들었는지 확인합니다.
- 10초든 30초든 2분이든 들을 때마다 전체 음절의 몇 %를 정확하게 알아들었는지 확인할 수 있어야 합니다. (매번 종이에 적어 보세요.) 보통 속도로 들을 때도 마찬가지입니다. 정확히 들은 %를 확인하세요.



5. 킹 목사님의 "I have a dream." 영문 원고를 구할 수 있겠지만 답답하더라도 절대 참고하지 마세요. 들리는 소리(음절)로만 승부하세요.



6. 너무 너무 어려워 보이지요? 하지만 마음만 먹으면 누구나 할 수 있어요. 인간에게는 그런 능력 충분히 있습니다. 이 2주간 과정만 마쳐도 그동안 우리 한국인들이 영어청취에 관하여 가졌던 대부분의 문제를 해결할 수 있게 됩니다. (그러나 이 2주간 과정은 제일 처음 단계에 불과합니다.)

Martin Luther King, Jr.: "I Have a Dream"



I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable Rights" of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

We cannot turn back.

There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."¹

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. And some of you have come from areas where your quest -- quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."²

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning:

My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.

Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim's pride,

From every mountainside, let freedom ring!

And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.

And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.

Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.

Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that:

Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.

From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!³

백년 전, 한 위대 한 미국인이 노예해방령에 사인을 했습니다. 지금 우리가 서 있는 이곳이 바로 그 상징적인 자리입니다. 그 중대한 선언은 不義의 불길에 시들어가고 있던 수백만 흑인 노예들에게 희망의 횃불로 다가왔습니다. 그 선언은 오 랜 노예 생활에 종지부를 찍는 즐겁고 새로운 날들의 시작으로 다가왔습니다.



그러나 그로부터 백년이 지난 오늘, 우리는 흑인들이 여전히 자유롭지 못하 다는 비극적인 사실을 직시해야 합니다. 백년 후에도 흑인들은 여전히 인 종 차별이라는 속박과 굴레 속에서 비참하고 불우하게 살아가고 있습니다. 백년 후에도 흑인들은, 이 거대한 물질적 풍요의 바다 한가운데 있는 빈곤 의 섬에서 외롭게 살아가고 있습니다. 백년 후에도 흑인들은 여전히 미국 사회의 한 귀퉁이에서 고달프게 살아가고 있습니다. 그들은 자기 땅에서 유 배당한 것입니다. 그래서 우리는 오늘, 이 끔찍한 현실을 알리기 위해 이 자리에 나온 것입니다.

Have you ever heard about Rose Lee? Do you know her? I bet you would know, if you were a Korean highscool student. She is very famous English online teacher. Coming-of-Age Day!!

I was born on March 11th, 1990. So this year I became an adult officially! So this Coming-of-Age Day is my day! So some of my friends and my boyfriend gave me roses to congratulate today. It feels weird that I already become an adult. I mean, time flies. I can steal remember the time when I was young. Since I'm an adult officially, I should be more responsible.

“교사 되는 길은 험난한 여정”

정보부족 우려 서울학원가로 몰려 “혼자서도 시험준비 할 수 있었으면…”

내년 2월 제주대를 졸업할 예정인 K(여·23)씨. 그는 요즘 서울에 가려고 짐을 싸고 있다. 지난 5일 치러진 교사 임용고사 시험에 응시한 그는 내년 1월 7일 발표를 기다리고 있지만, 아무래도 합격은 힘들 것 같기 때문이다. 그는 이번 임용고사에서 경기도에 응시했는데, 413명 모집에 8663명이 지원해 21대1의 경쟁률을 기록했다. K씨는 내년 12월에 있을 임용고사 준비를 일찌감치 시작하려고 한다.

하지만 지난 7월부터 5개월간 서울에서 보냈던 시간을 되풀이해야 한다고 생각하면 벌써부터 마음이 무겁다. 서울 노량진의 ‘임용고시’(임용고사가 경쟁률이 높아져 ‘임용고시’로 불린다) 학원에 다니려면 그 근처에 방을 얻어야 한다. 하지만 각종 ‘고시’를 준비하는 사람들이 전국에서 몰려 방값이 비싸다. K씨는 값싼 방을 찾아 헤매다 서울 동작구 신대방동의 모 고시원의 방을 월세 15만원에 구했다. 방 가운데에 큰 기둥이 있어 책상과 의자, 작은 책장을 제외하면 한 명이 눕기에도 빠듯한 작은 방이다.


고시원의 방값에 밥값이 포함돼 있어, 밥은 그냥 나오지만 반찬은 각자 해결해야 한다. 그는 990원짜리 햄 하나로 1주일을 버티는 생활 끝에 위장병까지 재발했지만 가족들이 걱정할까 내색도 못한다.


“방값 15만원, 학원비 15만원, 생활비 20만원 등 서울에서 생활하는 데 매달 50만원씩 들어요. 대학 졸업하고도 부모님께 의지해야 하는 처지가 갑갑하죠. 하지만 임용고시에 합격해 힘든 시간에 대한 보상을 받을 겁니다.”


제주대 인문대의 L(22)씨는 서울의 임용고시 학원에 가 공부하기 위해 제주시 모 학원에서 지난 1년 동안 강사를 하며 1000여만원을 모았다. 서울에 가지 않고 제주에서 동영상 강의도 듣고 이런저런 인터넷 카페에 가입해 정보를 공유해보기도 했지만, 아무래도 정보가 부족하다는 불안감을 떨치지 못해 서울행을 결심했다.


현재 제주도에는 임용고사 학원이 한 곳 있긴 하다. 하지만 ‘정보’에 대해 불안을 느끼는 임용고시 준비생들은 도내 학원보다는 서울로 눈길을 둘 수밖에 없는 실정이다. 사범대생 등 임용고시에 뜻을 둔 학생들은 대학 1~2학년 때부터 방학 등을 이용해 서울 노량진 학원가를 드나들며 강의를 듣고 있어 ‘대학사교육비’라는 얘기까지 나올 정도다.


방법은 없는 것일까. 제주대 사범대의 한 교수는 “현실적으로 임용고시를 준비하는 학생들이 노량진으로 가는 것은 어쩔 수 없지만, 이런 상황을 계속 방치할 수는 없다”고 말했다. 그는 “임용고사 준비생들 사이에 ‘노량진에서 문제가 나온다’는 말이 나돌 정도로 임용고사 시험 출제에 문제점이 드러나고 있다”며 “서울의 학원가에 가지 않고, 그룹 스터디나 혼자서 공부해도 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 임용고사 시스템을 개선해야 한다”고 말했다.


제주대 컴퓨터교육학과를 졸업하고 임용고사에 합격해 서귀포중학교 교사로 있는 지미숙(25)씨는 “3학년 겨울방학 때 노량진을 다녀온 뒤론 정보가 부족한 제주도에 있다는 것이 불안하기도 했지만, 그룹 스터디를 꾸준히 했던 것이 큰 도움이 됐다”며 “제주에서는 어렵다고 지레 주눅 들지 말라”고 했다.

I should keep this in mind always, and study very hard so I could pass the exam in shortest period! I have to keep awake!

Date to Insadong!!

I and my boyfriend went date to Insadong. It was first time for me to visit Insadong. I was very excited, because I heard a lot about Insadong, especially SSamjikil.

It was very cool place. All the names of stores were written in Korean, even Starbuck's!

There were lots of pretty and unique things, but they were very expensive.

But I couldn't help buying some! I bought some handmade earrings! They were so cute! And they weren't that expensive among others. And my boyfriend bought me a bear shaped ring! I was very sweet.

You know he looks like a bear, so I guess whenever I look at my ring, it will remind of him, which will be very nice.

We were actually planning to go to Chungkyechun at night, but we weren't sure about the direction to ge there. So we gave up. Well we had great time together in Insadong anyway. So Good!

Suho's day!!

Suho Park is a president in my major. He got some money by working as a president, so he decided to throw a party for our collegues. He told us that he will buy our dinner and drinks on April 29th. So everyone was waiting for this day. We were very excited to get together. Also very excited about free food and drinks!


And D-Day!!


We ate pork for dinner and hurried up to hof. Oh my gosh, in hof Suho drank too much for celebrating the day! He was like a man in a trance! I felt sorry for him. I bet he will be sick next day. Well thanks to his sacrifice we had great time together!

Actually, I and my boyfriend have been together for several days. March 17th, 2010 is the day we started to go out.

He is also a student in Chungang university. He is majoring in College of Public Service. I met him on my first meeting. Lots of people were surprised when I told them this fact. Because it is hard to meet a mate by meeting. But I did it! :)

We bought same bags. We bought it online. We really like it!

But I don't think we can carry this in summer because of this texture. Well anyway we are very happy, and lots of our friends envy ous!

This song is one of her popular songs. It was in the movie, 'Dream girls'. I never seen the movie though, the song is great. If I have some time, I should see this movie, since Beyonce is in it! And it will also help me learn English! Awesome!!

CAU has some good student exchange programs. I had spent 2 years in America studying English, but I want to have more opportunity to study English in English speaking countries, and learn about their education system. So I want to participate in student exchange program. I should find more about this opportunity, and prepare. I should get a good score in classes. And I need TOEFL or TEPS score. My story!!

Hello. My name is Jiyoung Yoon. I’m 21 years old. I didn’t take Scholastic Aptitude Test twice. I spent two years in America. So after I return to Korea, I had to go back one year in the high school. Because one of my teachers told me that I need at least 5 semesters to apply university. But I’m not sure that was true after all. I’m from Busan. I miss Busan so much because I miss being near the ocean and lots of my friends and family are still in Busan. I’m an only child. My mother is a science teacher in high school. My father works at the school, but isn’t a teacher.
I easily get lonely, so I love meeting people and making new friends. I’m kind of outgoing and considerate person. Actually I thought I’m a shy girl, but nobody agrees with me. So talk to me, I don’t bite. Well, but you’d better be careful when I’m drunk. I could hurt you sometime, but not very often, so no big worry.
Well I’m an ISFJ type. ISFJ type people are highly observant and aware of people’s feelings and reactions. They dislike doing things which don’t make sense to them. They are kind and considerate so they likely to put others’ needs above their own. However, they are pessimistic and passive. They focus too much on the present, so they can’t see the future well. The most efficient way to study for them is using their sense. Not only seeing, but also touching and hearing can be very helpful for them in studying. They prefer to understand something fully, and study alone or with really close friends.
I think ISFJ type matches with my personality and way to study quit well. I studied English in America. In America, English is the almost everything that I could use, see and hear. By surrounded by English, my English skill got improved. I guess actually using my sense helped me a lot in studying English.
I came to Seoul to attend Chungang University. I’m majoring in English Education as you all know. English has been always my favorite subject, and I like teaching and helping struggling friends. So after graduating from university I want to be an English teacher.

2) I will apply for a student exchange program : With my TEPS and TOEFL score, I will apply for a student exchange program. I will experience English and American culture. I will study English in England and America.
3) I will study how to teach students well : I will study various teaching methods, so I can teach students more efficiently. I will take some of popular English teachers' lecture, and try to learn from them.

Let's study TOEFL!!

I bought some TOEFL books. TOEFL books are expensive! Well I guess, since books are expensive I will feel more response to study hard, because I don't want to waste my money!

I had taken some TEPS few times before, but I never took TOEFL. The reson for this is that TOEFL is not cheap to take, so I want to be fully ready for the test. So I bought some books so I can study alone.

I want to apply for a student exchange program later, so I need TOEFL score. And just studying for the test will help me improve my English skills anyway. So this will be killing two birds with one rock! I will study at least three times a week depend on how many assingments do I have. Let's study hard and acieve my dream!

Chill Out With Hye-won and Jin-ah

After school, Hyewon, Jinah, and I went to Kangnam to just hang out. It was rainy day. And we went to Jon-co to drink.

Maybe we were so stressed out with many assignments. So we wanted to be drunk!!

I'm not good at drinking, so eventhough I didn't drink much, I was drunk.

Well it was fun! We could be very honest when we are drunk.

Well I’m an ISFJ type.
ISFJ type people are highly observant and aware of people’s feelings and reactions. They dislike doing things which don’t make sense to them. They are kind and considerate so they likely to put others’ needs above their own. However, they are pessimistic and passive. They focus too much on the present, so they can’t see the future well. The most efficient way to study for them is using their sense. Not only seeing, but also touching and hearing can be very helpful for them in studying. They prefer to understand something fully, and study alone or with really close friends.
I think ISFJ type matches with my personality and way to study quit well. I studied English in American. In America, English is the almost everything that I could use, see and hear. Lots of snow in SEOUL!!

In the night of March 9th, it rained.

It was very cold day, and suddenly the rain changed to snow.

It was my first time to see the snow this year!!

First snow of this year for me!!

I was living in Busan where doesn't snow often. And when it snow a little bit, I was warching Percy Jackson and the Olympians ; The Lightning Thief!! So I missed the chance to see the first snow of Busan.

I was really sad in the toughts that I couldn't see any snow in this year.

But on March 9th, it snowed in the spring!!

Almost every seoulite didn't like the snow, but I was really gald to see it!

It was so pretty in the morning! All the things were covered with snow! Looks very clean, and make me feel fresh!!

But, just one time will be enough for me. I don't want spring snow any more! TOO COLD!!
